A Winter Wedding Feast Full of Generosity and Detail
Hannah & Reece at The Shack Revolution, Hereford
Winter weddings have a unique atmosphere. They feel closer, more personal, and centred around time spent properly enjoying food and company. For Hannah and Reece, their February wedding in Hereford was designed with exactly that in mind.
With 42 guests joining them at The Shack Revolution, the couple wanted their wedding meal to feel generous, relaxed, and full of flavour. Italian Celebrations worked closely with them to create a bespoke menu and service style that delivered a seamless and memorable experience for everyone involved.

A Menu Designed Through Experience and Care
From the very beginning, Hannah and Reece were clear that food would play a central role in their day. Their planning started with a personalised tasting, where they were invited to try a wide selection of dishes in a relaxed setting.
The biggest challenge was not finding dishes they liked, but narrowing down their choices. Each option reflected the quality and authenticity they were looking for.
Once the menu direction was agreed, careful attention was given to guest planning. A detailed seating and food allocation plan was created to ensure that every guest received the correct dish without delays or confusion. This level of preparation is especially important when combining sharing courses with plated service.
A Relaxed Drinks Reception with Italian Cicchetti
After the ceremony, guests gathered for a prosecco reception while enjoying a selection of Italian canapés.
The cicchetti included:
-
Arancini with porcini and mozzarella
-
Zucchini carpaccio rolls with basil
-
Goats’ cheese crostini with honey and orange zest
These small dishes were light, flavourful, and easy to enjoy while socialising. They set the tone for the rest of the day, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere from the outset.

Antipasti Sharing Boards That Brought Tables Together
As guests took their seats, antipasti platters were already laid out across the tables.
Each board included:
-
A selection of Italian cured meats and cheeses
-
Chargrilled vegetables
-
Fresh breads, olives, and olive oil
This style of service allowed guests to begin eating straight away. It encouraged conversation and interaction, as dishes were passed around and enjoyed together.
It also removed the formality often associated with traditional starters, replacing it with something far more natural and sociable.
A Main Course Built Around Balance and Variety
For the main course, Hannah and Reece chose a combination of dishes that would appeal to all guests while staying true to Italian flavours.
The menu featured:
-
Porchetta, slow roasted with fennel and garlic
-
Vegetarian lasagne with roasted vegetables
-
Pumpkin and ricotta ravioli with sage butter
Each dish was assigned to specific guests in advance, ensuring a smooth and efficient service. This approach allowed the kitchen and front-of-house team to deliver plates quickly and accurately.
Sharing bowls of roasted potatoes and fresh seasonal salad were placed on each table, giving guests the flexibility to serve themselves and enjoy the meal at their own pace.
A Memorable Finish with Classic Italian Desserts
Dessert provided a strong finish to the meal, with a selection that catered to different preferences.
Guests enjoyed:
-
Traditional tiramisu
-
Raspberry and white chocolate semifreddo
-
Lemon sorbet for a lighter option
The tiramisu stood out in particular, with many guests commenting on its flavour and quality. It was a fitting end to a meal that focused on both comfort and authenticity.
Smooth Delivery from Start to Finish
Behind the scenes, the entire day followed a carefully structured timeline.
The Italian Celebrations team:
-
Cooked all dishes fresh on-site at the Hereford venue
-
Coordinated service with the venue team
-
Managed both sharing and plated elements efficiently
-
Ensured all courses were served and cleared on time
From the first canapés to the final clear down, everything ran according to plan, allowing Hannah and Reece to focus on enjoying their day.
“Sara provided us with one of the biggest, tastiest wedding breakfasts we have ever seen. In the lead up, Sara invited us round for a taster included in her price. We felt very welcome and Sara put on a very generous spread for us to try. It was very difficult narrowing down the options for our menu as it was all extremely delicious.
When the main courses came – Porchetta, Vegetarian Lasagne, and Pumpkin & Ricotta Ravioli – We started eating and the food was even better than we remembered. You can tell that Sara puts a lot of love and attention into what she does. The portion of the pork especially was phenomenal.
We got a lot of compliments from our guests… The tiramisu, however, was one of the best we’ve tasted.”
