Anna & Felicity’s Summer Wedding Feast

Furtho Manor Farm, Milton Keynes

In July 2025, Anna and Felicity gathered their family and friends at Furtho Manor Farm near Milton Keynes to celebrate their wedding day.

Set in the countryside just outside the village of Old Stratford, the barn and marquee at Furtho Manor created a relaxed and welcoming setting for the day. The couple were joined by 113 adult guests along with children and babies, creating a lively atmosphere filled with conversation and laughter.

From the beginning, Anna and Felicity wanted the food to feel generous and sociable. They liked the idea of guests sharing dishes at the table, passing plates around and enjoying the meal together rather than sitting down to something overly formal.

Italian food suited this approach perfectly. Working together, we created a menu centred around fresh ingredients, seasonal dishes and flavours that everyone could enjoy.

A Drinks Reception with Italian Cicchetti

After the ceremony, guests gathered outside the marquee for drinks while the Squisito team served trays of Italian cicchetti.

These small Venetian style bites included deep fried porcini mushroom arancini, tomato and basil bruschetta and broad bean and mint crostini.

They were designed to be simple, flavourful and easy to enjoy while chatting with friends and family during the reception.

As the afternoon continued and guests began to take their seats, the kitchen team prepared the first course.

Antipasti Served for Sharing

At Italian weddings, food often begins with antipasti placed at the centre of the table so guests can help themselves.

For Anna and Felicity’s celebration, each table received rustic sharing platters filled with Caprese salad with burrata, heirloom tomatoes and basil alongside chargrilled courgette, peppers and artichokes.

These were served with Puglian olives, rosemary focaccia and ciabatta bread, along with Italian extra virgin olive oil.

The platters were presented on wooden sharing boards running down the centre of each table. Guests could pick and choose what they liked while continuing their conversations and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere in the barn.

A Vegetarian Italian Wedding Menu

For the main course, Anna and Felicity chose two classic Italian vegetarian dishes that worked beautifully for a large gathering.

The first was Maria’s chargrilled courgette pasta, made with handmade trofie pasta, courgette, basil, lemon and pecorino.

Alongside this was parmigiana di melanzane, a traditional baked aubergine dish layered with tomato passata, basil and mozzarella.

These were served with green beans dressed with garlic and mint, together with lemon and rosemary roasted potatoes.

Everything was placed on the tables family style so guests could serve themselves. This approach suited the relaxed feel of the day and meant everyone could enjoy the food at their own pace.

Alternative dishes were prepared separately for guests with dietary requirements, including vegan pasta and gluten-free options.

A Light Finish with Gelato and Sorbetto

As the meal drew to a close, guests were served a refreshing dessert.

The couple chose two flavours that worked perfectly for a warm July afternoon. Guests could enjoy salted dulce de leche and vanilla gelato or lemon and basil sorbetto.

Served in individual tubs with wooden spoons, the gelato provided a light finish before the evening celebrations began.

Keeping the Day Running Smoothly

Behind the scenes, the Squisito team worked closely with the couple’s timetable to ensure the food service fitted naturally around the speeches and the flow of the day.

From laying the tables to clearing the final plates, the aim was to keep everything calm and organised so Anna and Felicity could simply enjoy the celebration with their guests.

"Hi Sara,

Felicity and I are just on the way back from our honeymoon and I wanted to take the time to say a heartfelt thanks from both of us.

To start with - the food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were excellent. We had so many compliments from our guests - including several people telling me the potatoes were the best they had ever eaten.

The service was also great - the food was delivered at the perfect times and fit with our timetable so well. I know this was down to your fab organisation and we are so grateful for this as it meant we could just enjoy the day rather than worrying about logistics!

Thanks so much again!
Anna & Felicity"
